My name is Judith Romo, a Houston hair stylist and Beautiful Grace is my business. I remember when I used to dream about moving to America and starting my business. Originally, I am from Bogota, Colombia. My mother suggested to me to consider going to school for cosmetology to become a Houston hair stylist. At first, I was hesitant because I wasn’t so sure if I would enjoy it. After carefully looking into it, I decided to do it.
The year was 1994 and I started school at Biocosmetology School of Colombia. This was a three year, comprehensive program, so I learned many things about beauty. I learned make-up arts, skin care, massage, hair and nutrition. After school, I decided to take a chance and follow my dream.
In 2000, I came to America, met two great Houston hairstylists and trained under them for three years. Those were tough times because I didn’t make that much money. What motivated me, was that one day, I could start my own business and be a hair stylist.
After getting married, my husband and I moved to the Humble, Kingwood, Atascocita area. There, I started working for Beauty Brands. I was there for nearly six years when my husband and I had our first child.
Similar to most parents, we desired that I’d be able to stay home with our new son. I wanted to start my hair salons in Humble TX. We decided that I was going to do it.
After a couple of weeks, I started getting calls from my clients since I had already been on maternity leave for a while. They were telling me they wanted me to do their hair and it didn’t matter if they had to come to my home.
Business started picking up and traffic got too busy to handle at our home, so we leased some space at Tuscany Village. I’m thankful I’m living my dream as a Houston hair stylist.
If you are looking for a great Houston hairstylist, I am more than qualified. You will also get the experience you deserve. Us women go to the salon for more than just a good hair style. We want to be pampered too. I promise I will take care of you.
